The days have been going by each at their own pace. Some days seem to fly by, while others seem to take their sweet time. And sometimes reflecting on the fact that AJ has been gone for 12 days is bittersweet. It hasn't taken long for the days to go by somewhat quickly, but there are still many days yet to go!
While AJ has been gone he has been able to keep in contact with me every day, and I am beyond thankful for that! Getting to hear from him each day really makes things here on the home front SO much easier...almost as if he isn't so far away.
His training down in Mississippi continues to go well. But like being here at home some days go by faster than others. But the days that go by really slow are the ones with lack of sleep! AJ has been continuing to volunteer to help out during the overnight shift from 10pm to 7am doing office work and managing any middle-of-the-night phone calls. He also manages to have a little time to enjoy himself by kicking back and doing some of his own things while things are slow during the middle of the night. But he must enjoy staying up all night if he keeps volunteering! He is working another shift this evening and it will be the third one he has done since being down there! Thankfully he gets time the next day to rest, but that only helps when it's used for that purpose! :P
This past week he was able to again train for a rollover. He had done this previously in Minnesota when he was there for his annual training during the month of June. They use a simulator in which the military vehicle rolls over so that the soldiers can practice learning how they would get themselves out of the vehicle if that kind of situation were to occur.
Thank you for all your thoughts and prayers as we are still in the beginning of this journey. We truly appreciate everyone's support and encouragement! :)
