To the Farm!

Eslie and I finally made it down to the farm on a Drill weekend where it was nice enough to play outside! HOORAY!! Drill weekends tend to work best for making a weekend trip down to Leighton as AJ isn't home all weekend, and then it gives Eslie a chance to run around a little as we don't really have a good place to do such at home. And she LOVES it. Grandpa and Grandma have a big wooden playset outside too, and who wouldn't want to swing, climb, or go down the slides twenty times in a row?! They also have a sand pile (from construction on their house,) and of course, sand is too fun to throw around and bury your hands in. You also get special rides when you go to the farm. Tractor rides with Grandpa (she decided she was terrified AFTER her ride down the road,) and 4-wheeler rides with Grandma (she refused to go.) Oh, and she got to try her first s'more ever, and LOVED it! Maybe one day I can break this little lady from her 'City Girl' ways and she won't mind getting her hands dirty ;)

I Cubs Game

Eslie went to her first I-Cubs game for the year! AJ's Grandma Darr had some extra tickets to the game, so she invited us to come along. The game started out a little wet with a pretty steady sprinkle, but thankfully it only lasted about twenty minutes. The temperature was not the warmest either as we kept going back and forth from jacket and hat to neither. Regardless, it was still fun to get outside for a few hours. And because we sat in the first row of the upper section, Eslie had some room to run around a little without disturbing everyone else. And of course she thought the puddle in the corner was the best place to play. Needless to say, her pants were soaked by the time we left the game; enough that they were removed before climbing into the car to head home. Even though she would only talk to Cubbie Bear from a distance because he was too scary, she had a lot of fun :)

Finger Painting!

This winter took FOREVER to finally leave, and now that Eslie is getting older, she tends to get bored more quickly when we are stuck inside every day. So I decided it was time to try out one of the messy indoor activities: finger painting! I had picked them up at Target a few weeks back because they had them on sale and knew it would be something she would enjoy regardless of the mess it would create! I taped a large plastic trash bag to the kitchen floor and then let her go crazy. She wasn't so sure about it at first since she doesn't like for her hands to stay messy, but Daddy kind of helped her get over that quite quickly! Needless to say, she went straight into the bathtub when she was done :)

First Park!

This Spring is the first one where Eslie can actually begin playing at parks and enjoy what they have to offer. She is definitely a girl who wants to be outside playing, but she doesn't like getting dirty. Mommy will have to work on taking that little bit of "city girl" out of her! ;) Here is Eslie's first trip to a park for the year, even though she wasn't feeling the best :/

A Picture is Worth...

...a thousand words. Seriously, this girl.
