Nine Months

We cannot believe she is already nine months old! And whats even crazier is that she will be ONE in just 3 months! Who would have thought that we would be needing to plan a birthday party so soon?!
It has been so much fun getting to watch her grow. She already has so much personality. Some of her favorite things to do are reading books, playing with toys, and definitely being outside. We cannot take the dog out without her throwing a fit because she wants to come too.
It has also been fun getting to see how her food preferences have changed. We have slowly been integrating table food into her diet as she wasn't as fond of the baby food anymore. Her favorite food used to be the vegetables, especially peas and green beans, but now she loves fruit the most now that its the real thing.
She has been crawling for about a month now and she is starting to pull herself up to things, but usually doesn't get much farther than onto her knees. Sometimes I think she is scared to stand up by herself.
Watching her grow has been a lot of fun. We can already see that she is definitely going to be a troublemaker. There is never a dull moment when she's around. We are excited to see what this next month brings! :)

Teeth!!

Who would have thought that I would be so incredibly anxious for Eslie to get teeth?! I just thought it would make her smile only a hundred times cuter, and obviously it would make the whole eating food thing a bit easier for her too once she was ready. She finally popped her bottom two teeth through about a month ago and she is really close to getting those top two out as well, but they seem to be taking a little more work (and crabbiness!) Now we just have to be careful when she goes to stick our hands and fingers into her mouth because they are sharp little boogers and she definitely does not hesitate to clamp down! And now her softer toys (mostly her foam letters and numbers) have little teeth marks in them too. But serious, isn't this smile just irresistible?!

5 Weeks

Only five weeks old, and Eslie's personality is already shining through. I think it's safe to say that we're going to have our hands full!! :)

Merry [Busy] Christmas!

Well, we survived our first Christmas holiday with a one-month-old, and as a family of three! And we even managed to make it to almost all of the Christmas family gatherings, although we were quite certain that the NINE we did manage to make it to were enough for us! Even though Christmas day and the days surrounding it were extremely busy and came with new discoveries and adventures, it was really great getting to see so much of our family, and especially getting to show off Eslie to the family who had not seen her yet. Now we look forward to next year when Eslie can interact a little more with everything that goes on :)

Merry Christmas from Axton, Kayla & Eslie
