Ahh, drill weekend. Two extra days a month where Daddy isnt home during the day, so it makes for a Mommy-Eslie weekend! Wasn't such a big deal when Es was little, but now that she is older, this Momma needs to come up with new ideas to keep her curious toddler occupied during the day while at home.
Not always as simple as it sounds.
For example: Yesterday we brought snow inside to play with (again). And even though she absolutely hates touching it with her fingers because it is cold, the cups and spoons in it kept her entertained for nearly 30 minutes! But today, when we tried the mess-free finger painting in a bag (seen on Pinterest) her interest was lost after just two minutes.
Fail.
I guess I will continue searching for new yet simple activities to try next month. Until then, we will just have to stick with riding horses, building towers in the air while lying on our back, reading books (ALWAYS), and playing with the farm animals (with the addition of the Zebra, Seal, Giraffe & Tiger). Oh yes, and bubbles. At least five times a day. Good thing the heating/cooling unit is multifunctional ;)
