Playing Catch-Up!

Yes, I've been a complete slacker in updating this blog in the past month and a half! I could use the excuse that we have been CRAZY busy, which left me NO time to update, but who is NOT busy?! I've been meaning to update everyone on our lives the past few weeks, I just haven't actually sat down to do such. So here it goes!

March 16-17 we attended a youth conference (Ignite) at our church. It was a great time of worship, fellowship with students and other leaders, and challenges from the various speakers. And I think that one of our favorite parts was getting to hear Phil Vischer (creator of Veggie Tales) speak. Sometimes I found myself imagining Bob the Tomato speaking to us because his character voices tend to mix in here and there with some of his expressions!

March 17 (St. Patty's Day) was also my 24th birthday! We have a family tradition of getting to pick where we want to go out for dinner for our special day with my family, and I chose to have some delicious Happy Joe's Taco pizza (best kind ever, in case you were wondering!) After eating we watched the ISU basketball game were unfortunately they lost to Kentucky, thus ending their NCAA tournament journey.

April 6th we went to the second game of the season for the Iowa Cubs. The game picked up a little more toward the end (evening the score out a bit too!) but the Cubs still ended up losing, but only by 1 run! Afterward we were able to watch a pretty good display of fireworks, of which we also decided were better than Des Moines' regular 4th of July show :P

April 8th was Easter, so we had a only a FEW things going on :P We started out our day by going to church with our Mom, younger sister, and niece tagging along. It was Lilly's first time being left alone in Kid's church, but other than preventing the other little boys from going down the slide, she did pretty well! We then headed to the South Side for an Easter lunch with our Grandparents, and then back to the East Side for another Easter meal and the annual Egg Hunt. It was a fun weekend with family :)

April 10 was our TWO YEAR anniversary, and it was SO wonderful getting to actually celebrate this special day TOGETHER this year :) We both still went to work that day, so that night we went out to dinner at HuHot (a favorite of ours) and then we ventured over to Glazed Expressions where we painted some pottery (something AJ hadn't ever experienced before!) It was a fun night with just the two of us doing something 'different' and we can't wait to see where year 3 brings us :)

April 12 was Charlie's birthday!! He's 2 now, but not even close to slowing down :P

April 14 I tagged along with Alan to go pick up a couple of baby sheep during a thunderstorm. They are a different breed of sheep that do not have wool, but rather they have hair like goats. They are TOO cute and I can't wait to get down to the farm to see them again soon!

WHEW!! I think that's about it...or at least all the 'bigger' things that could come to mind! And I will do better at keeping you all updated a little better so we don't have to play 'catch-up' again so soon :)
