The Encouragement Box

On April 16th I sent out a mass message to friends and family asking for their help. I reminded everyone that we are now on our last stretch of the deployment. We have 3 months left! But while that may be exciting to think about, the last 3 months are going to be the longest. I informed everyone that AJ had been having a rough few weeks over in Afghanistan and that I wanted to do something to help encourage him to keep going. I thought of writing him a letter to encourage him and remind him that we were going to finish this deployment and that we were going to finish it strong. But then I had a better idea. Why send him one letter from me when I knew that so many other people here at home would want nothing more than to encourage him in whatever way they could. So I decided to do just that. I sent out a message to family and friends asking them to help me out by simply writing a note of encouragement for him. Then, the only thing they had to do was email me back and I would print them all off and place them in a box to send to him on Friday, April 22.

I was absolutely THRILLED by the response I had.

I received a phone call from AJ this morning letting me know that he received the box I sent him. The box, and all 272 encouraging notes.

THANK YOU to everyone who helped. I could never thank you enough :)
